UB Newman Campus Ministry
To prepare UB students to transform their families, professions, churches, and communities through their faith in Jesus and their love for God and all other persons.
To listen, teach, support, and challenge as students become persons of transformative faith and love.
welcome. We’re happy you’re here! Thank you for coming!
Campus ministry starts with our gratitude for all those students who come to us, as well as our invitation to all those haven’t met us yet. If you want to know who we are, you can ask us. We’re here to be respectful, open, caring. We are called to be voices of God’s loving call to everyone.
We’ll come to you! You are important to us!
Campus ministry has a location: wherever students are. We need to be a part of students’ everyday lives to know you as persons, to know what you need and how we can best help you. We’re here to listen to you, to hear you, and to be wherever you need us to be. We are called to be with those we serve.
We have questions too! We want to search after answers with you! Campus ministry is the beginning of your adult search for purpose, fulfillment, and a world beyond yourself. We’re here to ask these fundamental questions with you, to accompany you as you test your beliefs and clarify your values. We are called to search after the truth.
We’re trying to be better people! We want to help you become what you want to be! Campus ministry continues to work with you after you’ve started to figure out what you believe and how you want to live. We offer students opportunities and resources to deepen their personal spiritualties, form close bonds with fellow students, serve their local community, and learn about the Catholic Church’s history and teaching. We’re here to strive with you to improve our own lives and the lives of those we meet, to provide what you need to make these improvements. We are called to make better what we have been given.
We want to serve and share! We want you to change the world!
Campus ministry is only the start of your engagement with so much more than a single university or city or church. We want you to go with what you’ve learned and change hearts and lives. We’re here to prepare you to do the commissioned work of those who heed Jesus’s call to care for those whose needs are greatest. We are called to follow the example of Jesus’s humility in service and love in action.
